Does Konfir support my employment type?

Updated over 3 weeks ago

Overview

Konfir supports all types of paid work completed in the UK, including:

  • Full-time employees

  • Part-time employees

  • Contractors (including agency & umbrella workers)

  • Self-employed (including freelancers & consultants)

Konfir does not support any form of formally unpaid work, including volunteering and work paid ‘cash in hand’.

Self Employment

For verifying self-employment, please note:

  • During your self-employment, you may have not been subscribed to an established payroll system. If this is the case, please continue to connect other data sources to complete your verification.

  • During your self-employment you may have received income into a personal or business bank account. Both types of account can be connected to Konfir. Your verifier will then be able to see the various clients that have paid into your account, which may form an acceptable proof of your self-employment.

Contracted employment

  • Your Konfir verification will always return the names of the organisations you were paid by (via the banking connection), or directly employed by (via the HMRC and Payroll connections). This means that if you have declared the details of your client as your employer, this may not be returned by Konfir. Instead, the details of your consultancy/agency will be returned to your verifier.

  • If your verifier wants to check that your consultancy/agency completed work for a specific organisation, this will need to be checked by the verifier themselves as part of further checks after you have submitted your Konfir verification.

  • Whether or not your employment was in/outside IR35 rules is irrelevant to your Konfir verification
