Summary
Verify Myself is Konfir's self-initiated verification option. Instead of waiting for an employer, lender, or letting agent to send you a request, you can start the process yourself - connect your data sources, and share the verified result directly with whoever needs it.
How it works
You create a Konfir verification through the Employer Directory - Konfir's directory of supported organisations, each with their own Verify Yourself request page. Find the organisation you're applying to, start the verification from their page, connect your data sources (banking, HMRC, payroll), and choose how to share the result.
The verification itself is identical to one triggered by an organisation - the only difference is that you initiate it.
When to use Verify Myself
Verify Myself is well suited for situations where you want to get ahead of a formal request, or if the intended recipient is leaving the sourcing of your employment or income verification (i.e. reference) up to you.
When not to use Verify Myself
In some cases it's better to wait for the organisation to send you a verification request directly - for example, if they have their own Konfir process, if they use a specific screening provider, or if they've asked you not to submit anything yet.
If you're unsure, ask the organisation whether they accept self-initiated Konfir verifications.
