Can I fail a Konfir verification?

There’s no pass or fail - Konfir just shows what could be verified from your data. Your verifier reviews the results and guides any next steps.

Summary

No - There’s no 'pass' or 'fail' with Konfir; Konfir doesn't grade you or make a decision about your application. It collects evidence from the sources you connect and returns a result that shows what could be confirmed. Your verifier reviews that result and decides what to do next.

What the result shows

For each period of employment or income being checked, your result will show one of the following:

  • Konfir Verified - the data sources returned consistent evidence for this period

  • Not Verified - no data was available to confirm this period

  • Connected - some data was found, but it wasn't strong enough to verify (this applies to gap periods only)

None of these are a "fail." They describe what the evidence shows.

ℹ️ Note: "Not Verified" doesn't mean something is wrong or that you've been dishonest. It means the digital sources that were connected didn't cover that period.

What if something can't be verified?

That's normal. There are many reasons why a period might not be fully verified digitally:

  • A data source didn't connect or doesn't go back far enough

  • You worked overseas, were unpaid, or were paid informally

  • The employment was very recent and hasn't appeared in records yet

  • Your employer's payroll system isn't supported

You can still submit with whatever you've connected. Your verifier may ask for additional documents or clarification if something is missing - that's part of their process, not a failure on your part.

What about income affordability verifications?

Some verifications include an income affordability check, where Konfir assesses whether your verified income meets a minimum threshold set by the organisation managing your application. If your income doesn't meet the threshold, you'll be redirected back to the organisation and they'll decide on next steps, which may include alternative ways to demonstrate your income.

Who makes the decision?

Konfir provides the evidence. Your verifier decides what to do with it. That's true whether the result is fully verified, partially verified, or includes an income affordability assessment - the next step is always in their hands.

If you're concerned about your result or what it might mean for your application, contact your verifier directly.
