Summary

Konfir’s HMRC connection allows you to verify your employment or income using your income tax record. The connection requires you to log in to your Government Gateway account and approve a one-time data access request from Konfir.

Step-by-step

  1. Open your Konfir email/SMS link and select Connect with HMRC.

  2. You’ll be redirected to HMRC to sign in with your Government Gateway ID and password (you can create one if you don’t have it yet).

  3. If prompted, verify your identity using any 2 of: UK passport, UK driving licence, a payslip or P60, or credit-reference questions.

  4. Grant access to share your PAYE income record with Konfir, then you’ll return to Konfir automatically.

Who can connect HMRC?

Everyone who has worked in the UK for more than 3 months can connect HMRC data via their Government Gateway account. If you have not accessed your account before, you will need to create your login details.

If you haven’t worked/paid tax in the UK for more than 3 months, you should skip HMRC connection.
