Summary

Konfir is designed to make verifying your employment or income faster, simpler, and safer - but it’s always your choice whether to use our service. Here’s why many people choose to use Konfir, and what to expect if you prefer a manual alternative.

Why use Konfir?

Konfir provides a digital alternative to traditional verification processes (e.g. referencing and document checks) which can be slow, frustrating and time-consuming.

Key benefits

  • Speed – Verifications are completed in minutes, not weeks.

  • 🛡️ Privacy – Your current or past employers are never contacted.

  • 🎯 Accuracy – Your verification is objective and trusted by your verifier.

  • 🔒 Security – Data is encrypted and shared only with your verifier.

If you’d prefer not to use Konfir

Using Konfir is optional. Simply tell your verifier (the organisation that requested your check) - they can cancel your Konfir link and switch to a manual process, usually involving document uploads or references.

Your options

1. Use Konfir - only connect what you’re comfortable with.

You control which data sources you use (e.g. Banking, HMRC, Payroll), depending on what your verifier enables. This keeps things digital and fast.

📝 Note: Some verifiers only enable one source (for example, HMRC). If you don’t wish to use it and no others are available, you’ll need to verify manually with your verifier instead.

2. Don’t use Konfir - contact your Verifier

They’ll guide you through their alternative method, such as providing payslips, P60s, or references directly.

What to expect from manual alternatives

  • Timing: They can take longer - often days or weeks.
📄 Evidence: You may need to share multiple documents.
🔐 Privacy: Manual processes may expose more data (like full payslips).
By contrast, Konfir only shares the minimum verified information needed for your check.
