Summary
Yes - you can skip HMRC if other data sources (like Banking or Payroll) are available in your Konfir verification. If HMRC is the only source your verifier has enabled, you’ll need to connect it or contact your verifier for an alternative manual process.
If HMRC is optional
If you see other data sources available, you can skip HMRC and continue with Banking and/or Payroll. Once you’ve connected at least one source, you can submit your verification.
💡 Note: HMRC often provides the most complete record of your UK employment history. Skipping it may mean your verifier needs extra documents (like payslips or P60s) after you submit.
If HMRC is required
If you don’t see any other sources available, it means your verifier has chosen HMRC as the only method for your verification. In that case, you won’t be able to complete your check in Konfir without connecting your HMRC account.
If you can’t connect HMRC or prefer not to, contact your verifier directly. They can arrange an alternative manual process such as document checks or references.
