Summary
Konfir can use three trusted sources: Banking, HMRC, and Payroll. You’ll only see the sources your verifier allows, and you can choose which ones to connect. Connecting multiple data sources increases the likelihood of successful verification and avoids further manual checks.
The three sources
🏦 Banking (Open Banking)
Shows salary or income payments into your account. Between 2-5 years of employment history. Best for recent pay and capturing employments that HMRC may not have a clean record of.
⚖️ HMRC
Confirms your employment history and income recorded with HMRC. Best for overall history. 5 years of employment history.
📁 Payroll
Shows employment details directly from your employer’s payroll system, including job title. Most recent employment only. Not all employers support this.
Which should I choose?
If multiple data sources are available to you, use them! - this makes your verification more complete and accurate, reducing the likelihood that further manual checks will be needed
Only certain data source may be available - depending on what your verifier is happy to accept as evidence from us
If your not comfortable connecting a data source, skip it - if we can’t successfully verify you, your verifier will follow up directly with alternative options (e.g. document checks)
🛡️ Remember: You’re always in control - only connect the data sources you’re comfortable with.
