Summary
Yes - connecting your bank is optional. If you have a closed, non-UK, or non-digital bank account, or you’re simply not comfortable connecting online, that’s fine - your verification can still proceed using the other available sources.
Why skipping works
Konfir uses multiple data sources precisely so that if you need to skip one source, you can. Konfir will still create a verification based on the data you provide from other sources (e.g. HMRC)
However, connecting your bank usually helps us build a stronger and more complete verification. Each additional source increases the likelihood that we can verify everything digitally - without your verifier needing to request extra documents later.
How to skip
Open your Konfir link and skip the Banking step.
If you don't see a skip option, enter a random word into the bank search bar, and click 'Can't find my bank'
Connect any other available sources (HMRC or Payroll).
Once at least one source is connected, press Submit to complete your verification.
If you don’t want to verify digitally at all
Using Konfir is optional. If you’d prefer not to verify digitally, you can learn about your options in this article: Why use Konfir? What alternatives are available?
