Can I skip the bank connection?

How to skip connecting your bank account and use other sources (HMRC or Payroll) to verify instead.

Summary

Yes. You’re always in control of which data sources you use with Konfir. If you don’t have online banking or you’d prefer not to connect your bank, you can skip this step and continue with other options like HMRC or Payroll.

How it works

  • Konfir supports multiple data sources. If one isn’t available or you’d rather not use it, you can still complete your verification by connecting the others.

  • Skipping Banking won’t stop you progressing — just choose another available source and continue, then submit when you’re done.

  • You can return to your original link at any time (before it expires) to add another source if you change your mind.

If you don’t want to verify digitally at all

Using Konfir is optional. If you’d prefer not to verify digitally, tell your verifier (the organisation that requested the check). They can proceed with manual document checks and referencing instead - this may take longer and could involve sharing documents like payslips, P60s or bank statements.

If you want to continue digitally without Banking

  • Open your Konfir link and skip any data connections you’re not comfortable with (e.g., Open Banking).

  • Select and complete one or both of the other sources (HMRC and/or Payroll).

  • Submit your verification when you’re finished.
