Summary

Use Verify Yourself (Respond) if you want to move faster or provide a reference proactively. If an organisation has told you they’ll send their own invite or require a specific route, it’s usually best to wait for that request.

When to verify yourself now

  • No reference has been requested yet but you want to be ready.

  • You need proof for lettings/finance quickly.

  • You want a portable, source‑verified record you can reuse.

When to wait

  • The organisation plans to send a Konfir invite or must use a named screening provider.

  • They require a strict format (e.g., wording on headed paper).

  • They’ve asked you not to submit anything yet.

If you’re unsure

Ask: “Do you accept a self‑initiated Konfir Respond verification, or should I wait for your process?” If they accept Respond, choose Send to someone else for direct delivery.

What happens either way

  • The underlying process is the same: you consent, connect sources, and Konfir creates a time‑stamped result.

  • You control which sources to connect and who sees your verification.
