Summary
You have the agency to decide to skip this step: you’re in control throughout the Konfir verification journey. However, it may delay your verification if your verifier needs to review your documents manually.
What happens if I skip?
If you’re unwilling or unable to upload your SA302 documents, your verifier might need to manually verify your self-employment, outside of Konfir. In this case, the organisation requesting your verification might follow up with you directly or ask for documents through another route, which could take longer.
Why we asked for documents
We ask for SA302s when we’ve been told your employment history includes a period of self-employment and we couldn't confirm it through our usual digital sources (like Open Banking, Payroll and HMRC). This is generally applicable if you are or have previously worked as a sole trader, freelancer or limited company director, and therefore have not been paid through PAYE.
