HMRC is temporarily unavailable due to maintenance. Try again once it’s restored, or skip HMRC and connect other sources if available.

Summary

This message appears when HMRC’s systems are temporarily unavailable due to maintenance or a technical outage.

It’s not an issue with Konfir or your account - the service usually comes back online within 24 hours. When it’s available again, Konfir will automatically email you with a secure link to rejoin your verification and reconnect HMRC.


What to do

  • Try again later: Wait for Konfir’s “Service Restored” email and use the link to continue your HMRC connection when the system is back online.

  • If you’re short on time: Skip the HMRC step for now and connect other available sources such as Banking and/or Payroll, then submit your verification.

  • If HMRC is your only source: You’ll need to wait until HMRC’s service resumes before you can complete your verification through Konfir.

Your verifier will review your verification once it’s submitted and contact you if they need any further information.
