How to complete your verification

Open your invite, connect HMRC/bank/payroll, and submit - most people complete their Konfir verification in minutes.

Summary

Completing your Konfir verification usually takes under five minutes and involves three simple steps:

  1. Start your verification

  2. Connect your data sources

  3. Review and submit

Step-by-step guide

Step 1: Start your verification

You'll receive a secure link by email or SMS. In some cases, you may access Konfir directly through a platform you're already using (such as a tenancy or background check application). Open the link to begin. Before continuing, you'll see:

  • What information is being requested

  • Who your verification result will be shared with

Take a moment to review this - you're always in control of what you choose to connect.

Step 2: Connect your data sources

Konfir will guide you through available data sources one by one. For each option, you can choose to connect or skip. We recommend connecting as many sources as you can - this helps create a more complete and accurate result.

Available data sources

  • 🧾 HMRC: Confirms employment and income recorded with HMRC.

  • 🏦 Banking: Confirms salary payments into your account.

  • 💼 Payroll: Retrieves verified data directly from your employer’s payroll provider.

  • 📄 Documents: Upload and verify specific documents.

If a source won't connect, check the relevant help article for that source. If it still won't connect, skip it and continue with your other available sources - you can still submit your verification. Your verifier will review the result and let you know if they need anything further outside of Konfir.

Step 3: Review and submit

Once you've gone through the available sources, you'll see a summary of the information collected.

  • Check everything looks correct

  • Submit your verification

After submitting, your result is securely shared with the organisation that requested it. See: How do I know my verification has been submitted?
